The game itself is also considerably accessible. Players won’t have to worry much about difficulty spikes and overly complicated puzzles in order to completely finish the game. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t things the player should avoid so they don’t spoil their gameplay.

10 Worrying About The Character Creation

At the beginning of the game, the player is allowed to create and customize their own furry little character. They’ll be able to select their character’s race, which affects starting attributes and perks, genetic structure, which alters their appearance, as well as their attributes, and genetic resilience, which changes their fur color.

The player shouldn’t stress much about this unless they want to be intricate with their character’s appearance. The player’s starting build won’t really matter since the player can just direct points to the attributes they prefer as they go through the game.

9 Dialogue Choices That Affect Aura

Very early in the game, the player will be introduced to the game’s Aura mechanic. Each dialogue choice the player makes will either lead them down the light path or the dark path.

Most of the time, the “dark path” dialogue option is placed on the left side of the screen while the light path dialogue is on the right. Note that it is most of the time. It isn’t always the case. The player should always take the time to read each dialogue option to assess which one is which.

8 Mindlessly Spending Bio Points and Psi Points

Bio Points and Psi Points are the things needed in order to gain biogenetic mutations, perks, and psi-powers. These are the abilities you can earn and use to defeat the various enemies in the game.

It can be easy to liberally spend these points without consideration, but the player should always assess whether or not an upgrade is worth getting, rather than saving up points for better upgrades. Some of the best upgrades the player can get require huge amounts of bio points or psi points. It’s better to save up for those rather than just immediately getting the ones that require lower points.

7 Craft Weapons

One thing the player should know while playing Biomutant is that most weapons in the game are not sold by merchants. They are either looted or crafted.  With that in mind, the player should take their time to learn the game’s crafting mechanic.

The player can absolutely craft powerful weapons, for as long as they have the right parts for it. They can ruffle through the game to look for legendary parts or they can purchase them from merchants.

6 Rushing Through The Main Campaign

The game has a very repetitive nature. Most players will be able to feel this right away if they’re simply rushing through the game’s main campaign instead of exploring the entirety of the map. To avoid the feeling of repetition, the player should take their time while playing the game, do side quests, or explore the world.

There is a handful of things to do and find in the world of Biomutant. The player will miss them, thus shortening and worsening their playthrough, if they only do the main missions.

5 Not Using Ranged Weapons Enough

The combat gameplay of Biomutant can be somewhat fast-moving. Often, the player will be faced with multiple enemies at once. A lot of RPG players are used to melee weapons, which may lead them to only use those while playing this game. This shouldn’t be the case.

The ranged weapons in Biomutant are absolute powerhouses. They are just as important as melee weapons. Both of these offensive machinations should be used hand in hand.

4 Not Getting The Glider Right Away

One of the best upgrades the player can attain is the airglider. It will allow them to glide instead of fall directly to the ground. While this game doesn’t inflict fall damage to the player, having the airglider is a much smoother and better way of getting from point A to point B.

The airglider can be earned via the Automaton upgrades. These are unlocked by finishing Mirage sidequests. These can be found anywhere in the world and the player is most likely to come across them easily. Once they find one, they should get this upgrade first.

3 Swimming Forcibly

Swimming from one island to another is something the player may have to do while playing Biomutant. However, this is also one of the easiest ways to die in the game. Swimming in Biomutant will consume the player’s energy bar. If this reaches zero, the player will die.

The player should be mindful when doing this. Assess whether or not there’s an alternative path. Better yet, they should do Goop’s quest first, which rewards the player the Googlide. This will allow them to traverse the surface of the water. Goop can be found inside Subnautica Station, which is located in the Surfipelago area.

2 Not Turning On The QTE Auto Complete Option

Everyone should admit that the QTE mechanic is a thing of the past and that it shouldn’t be implemented in games anymore. While QTEs are present in Biomutant, the player also has the option to automatically complete QTEs.

This is found in the game’s accessibility option. The player should just turn this option on and focus on the other, more enjoyable parts of the game.

1 Running Away From A Fight Halfway Through

One of the worst mistakes a player can make while playing Biomutant is to run away from a fight they’ve already started. While the player can’t run away from bosses, they can with encounters with mini-bosses, which are scattered all around the map.

Once the player begins an encounter and chucks away the enemy’s health bar, and they distance themselves too far halfway through the fight, the enemy’s health bar will disappear. When they step back in the enemy’s aggro range, their health bar will be restored to full.
